The debates we have at home are so radicalized that there is nobody defending common-sense positions that, in my opinion, and confirmed by polls, represents the view of a majority of American families.

Families deserve to understand why a particular school had been chosen to receive asylum seekers. And to dispel any concerns that the disproportionate allocation isn’t to simply adjust for schools having lost a significant percentage of students.

More symbolic of a broken system are the children of parents who are waiting to become permanent. Often called, ‘Documented Dreamers,’ these are children who came to the US when very young and while their parents wait for greencards they end up deported when they turn 21.
